What our laser cuts
Our Trumpf laser cuts aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel and galvanized steel sheet up to 5′ × 10′, with an automatic feed system that keeps sheets moving through the machine. Holes, slots, cut-outs and fine detail are cut in the same pass as the outline.
The Materials page lists every alloy and thickness we cut. Need something else? Tell us — we source most sheet and plate.
More than flat parts
Laser cutting is usually the first step. The same part can go on to our panel bender or press brake for bends, get press studs, nuts, tapped holes or countersinks, be TIG welded into an assembly, and be sent out for powder coat — all managed by one shop.
- Part cleanup is included with every laser-cut part
- Hardware, tapping and countersinks added before forming
- Bending on a Salvagnini P4 or a 10 ft Amada press brake
Getting the best laser-cut parts
The Design Guide covers file preparation in detail.
- Draw the part at 1:1 with only the cut outline and holes — no title block, dimensions or notes.
- Make holes at least as big as the material is thick.
- Keep holes and cut-outs away from bend lines if the part will be formed.
Questions
Our Trumpf laser takes sheets up to 5′ × 10′. Larger parts, and non-metals such as plastics, wood and carbon fiber, can go on our 7′ × 14′ ShopSabre CNC router instead.
A DXF drawn at 1:1 with only the cut outline and holes. A STEP file works too — for a bent part we unfold it to get the flat blank. Other CAD files and PDF drawings are quoted by our team.
