How it works

From CAD file to finished part in three steps

Upload a file, see your price and send it to the shop — all in one sitting.

  1. Step 1: Upload your design

Drag in DXF, STEP or STL files. We read the geometry right in your browser — thickness and bends are detected from 3D models. Any other CAD file (SolidWorks, Inventor, IGES, DWG …) or a PDF drawing is welcome too: we quote those by hand.

  2. Step 2: Get an instant price

Pick the material and quantity — bends are counted from your file, and laser cutting and bending are priced as you go. Need welding, hardware or a finish? Add it to your order notes.

  3. Step 3: Send it to the shop

Request your order. We review it, quote any extra operations from your notes, then make your parts — ready for pickup at our Millstadt shop, or ask us about shipping.

Laser-cut and formed steel brackets

Manufacturers (OEMs)

We provide manufacturers with the high-precision metal parts they need to assemble their final products.

We efficiently transform designs into components, ensuring quality and timely delivery, which helps manufacturers streamline their internal processes and meet their own production deadlines.

We offer laser cutting, automated panel bending on a Salvagnini P4, press brake forming, TIG welding, CNC routing, CNC rolling, and assembly to be a one-stop shop for manufacturers.

Custom metal components for a construction project

General Contractors and Subcontractors

We act as an extension of a general contractor or subcontractor’s team by transforming blueprints and specifications into the custom metal structures, brackets, and components needed for a construction project.

We take the hassle out of metalwork by providing detailed quote drawings and upfront budget information, allowing you to focus on overall site management and construction tasks.

Architectural metal work

Architects

We help breathe life into architects’ visions by translating their innovative designs into tangible, high-quality metal products.

Featured equipment

Automatic panel bending on a Salvagnini P4

A fully automatic CNC panel bender from Salvagnini, the company that invented panel bending. It forms flanges on all four sides of a sheet in one automatic cycle — up or down, with no tool changes between parts — so panels, covers and enclosure parts come out fast, square and consistent.

  • Bends all four sides of a panel in one automatic cycle — a manipulator turns the sheet between bends
  • Up and down bends (positive and negative) without flipping the part
  • Universal tooling and an automatic blank holder: no manual tool changes between parts, so short runs and one-offs cost less to set up

Why EMSV

One shop from file to finished part

Get a real price for laser-cut and bent parts in seconds, and have our team quote everything else. Then we cut, form, weld and finish your parts in our own shop — and a real person checks every order before it goes into production.

Drop in DXF, STEP or STL files and see a laser cutting and bending price calculated by the same quoting engine our shop uses. For 3D models we detect the material thickness and bends automatically and price the flat blank. Anything else your part needs is quoted by our team.

A Salvagnini P4 automatic panel bender, a Trumpf laser, a 110-ton Amada press brake, a Lincoln TIG cell, a 7′ × 14′ ShopSabre router, grinding benches and a press stud inserter — all in one shop, so your parts don’t bounce between vendors.

We are set up for the job, whether you need a single prototype or a production run. The instant quote shows quantity breaks for every part, so you can see how the price changes with volume.

We’re at 604 S Mulberry St in Millstadt, IL. Pick your parts up at the shop (Mon–Fri · 9am–5pm) or ask us about shipping.

Every order is reviewed by our team before production. If anything in your file needs attention, we’ll reach out before we cut.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Don’t see your question? Send us a message and we’ll get back to you.

Any CAD file. DXF for flat parts, and STEP (.step/.stp) or STL for 3D sheet metal parts, get an instant price. SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, Parasolid, IGES, DWG and other CAD files, and PDF drawings, go in the same upload box — our team prices those by hand (a PDF with the same name as a part is attached to that part as its drawing). The instant price covers laser cutting and press brake bending: for 3D models we detect the material thickness and bends automatically and unfold the part to price the flat blank. For anything else — PDFs, sketches, DWG — send it through the contact page and we will quote it by hand.

The instant price covers the material, laser cutting and bending, calculated from your file with the same quoting engine our shop uses. Every order is reviewed by our team before production. Extra operations you list in your order notes are quoted separately, and we will reach out if anything in the file needs attention.

Yes, absolutely. For now the instant quote prices laser cutting and bending only, but we quote all kinds of parts: TIG welding, hardware insertion, tapped holes, countersinks, powder coat, CNC routing, rolling, assemblies and one-off prototypes. Upload your drawings on the contact page, or add notes to your instant-quote order and we’ll add the extra operations by hand.

A panel bender is an automatic bending machine: the sheet lies flat, a blank holder clamps it, and bending blades fold each edge up or down while a manipulator turns the sheet to the next side. Our Salvagnini P4 bends panels up to 98″ long with flanges up to 5″, in mild steel up to 14 ga, stainless up to 16 ga and aluminum up to ⅛″ — ideal for enclosures, panels, doors, covers and trays. Longer or thicker parts go on our 10 ft Amada press brake. You don’t need to choose: we pick the right machine for every part.

Draw the part at 1:1 scale with only the cut outline and holes. Leave out title blocks, dimensions, notes and borders. Bend lines may go on a layer named “BEND”. See the Design Guide for details.

Aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel and galvanized steel on the laser, plus aluminum, plastics, wood and carbon fiber on the CNC router. The Materials page lists every material and thickness available in the instant quote.

Yes. We are at 604 S Mulberry St in Millstadt, IL — about 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
